Students explore their imagination and experience the joy of drawing as we CARTOON TOGETHER! Through the process of creating comics, participants will discover unique and powerful ways of thinking and self-expression. By drawing cartoons in community, something wonderful and magical will happen as we all learn to LOOSEN UP, BE CREATIVE, TELL STORIES, DRAW SOME COOL STUFF & HAVE FUN! No "artistic skill" necessary.

Knitting is a great hobby for kids. Students learn about kinds of yarns, tools, and decorating their own knitting bags. This class is open to beginners, who will learn the basics and create a simple accessory of their choice, and intermediates, who will take on more challenging projects like dolls, hats, and mittens. Students also enjoy being part of a knitting community as they share ideas and encourage each other as we learn to love knitting!
Instructor: Yoshimi Arai | Grades 2-4 | Tuesdays
Children develop important skills while creating fun and interesting origami models. Sessions include light exercises, posture guidance, and finger warm-ups that help children focus. When students encounter unfamiliar folds or make mistakes, Yoshimi guides and encourages them to better understand and try again. Through this process, students learn persistence and develop self-confidence. Students practice step-by-step thinking, problem solving, spatial reasoning, and geometry through origami.
Instructor: Tsui Pappas | Grades 2-3 | Thursdays
This course introduces young artists to techniques used to produce visual works. Lessons focus on drawing techniques, the use of different mediums, and learning about color! Students will also be introduced to famous artists, how they use the techniques in their work, and encouraged to experiment in creating their own unique pieces. The goal of the class is to build confidence in drawing and crafting . Students will also complete a small portfolio of artwork at the end of the session.
